Flash Review- LumoPro LP160 Manual Flash

LumaPro LP160 Manal Flash
Since we're still on the theme of of strobes/flash, I thought I'd share this article regarding this new flash from LumaPro.  Now, it's a manual flash, meaning no TTL for those of you that like to let your equipment work for you.  The operation panel in the back looks very similiar to the panel on strobes (where you can power up or down by stops).  The article also points out some of the other useful features.  Here's my two cents:

Pros:
  • easy controls (feels like you're controling an actual strobe)
  • great for forcing yourself to learn how to operate a manual flash
  • the buttons are super simple
  • great as a second light
  • Only $159
  • Can be used with any brand of camera

Cons:
  • No TTL
  • not a Canon
  • I would have to learn how to operate a manual flash
